How Close could it have got.
With only 5 points splitting the red, white and blue hats from the prestigous Gold medals, it could not have been closer. The first Norma Baisden Team Gala took place on friday 16th July, this was the first time that the club has hosted a gala for its own swimmers ranging from regional swimmers to non swimmers.
All entrants were split into 3 teams and all swam to earn points for their team, every swimmer completed 1 length of frontcrawl and backstroke.
The younger, least experienced and less comfident swimmers were helped by the clubs senior swimmers, including Club President, Ian Cridland.
The event was a major success and will now form part of the annual calendar of Becontree SC.
All swimmers were a credit to themselves, parents and teachers, and every swimmer earned their medal which was presented to them at the end of the evening.
